The Korrigan is the latest addition to the Maison Tirot family. It is a basin sailboat equipped with a ballasted keel, allowing it to sail on its own and hold its own against even the strongest gusts of wind.

With its more contemporary lines, it is reminiscent of offshore racing sailboats such as the IMOCA or Class series. Like its bigger brothers, the Korrigan is agile and high-performing!

This sailboat is delivered unassembled: it can be put together in just 3 minutes with two screws (already in place) and two knots to tie.

The hull is carved from solid poplar wood and the keel is made from stainless steel. The sail is cut from spinnaker cloth to give the boat maximum lightness.

Korrigans are legendary creatures from Breton folklore, often described as small mischievous beings living on the moors, in the forests, or near springs. Sometimes benevolent, sometimes playful tricksters, they can offer treasures to worthy travellers or play nasty tricks on those who offend them. They are associated with Celtic legends and the night — a time when they dance in circles and become invisible. Their appearance varies depending on the tale: some describe them as tiny elves with red eyes and white hair, while others see them as closer to fairies or underground dwarves.

The Korrigan is a nimble and unpredictable little sailboat, dancing on the water like a korrigan under the moonlight.

Since its very beginnings, Maison Tirot has crafted its toy sailboats with the greatest care. From the selection of raw materials to the making of each toy, the expertise passed down from generation to generation allows Tirot boats to withstand the test of time and every storm they may face.

Designed and made in Brittany (🇫🇷) using traditional artisan methods, every Tirot sailboat is unique.

The Korrigan sailboat can be launched anywhere: in park ponds, lakes, swimming pools, and even out on the open ocean.

Caring for the toy is very simple — just wipe it down, rinse it after each outing, and let it dry thoroughly before putting it back in the water.

Maison Tirot toys meet French and European toy safety standards (NF EN 71).

Our Korrigan sailboat is made from poplar wood. The aesthetic appearance of the deck may vary from one sailboat to another, and knots may be visible.

In our commitment to avoiding material waste, we favour protecting and stabilising the hulls rather than discarding pieces with minor aesthetic variations.

All our boats are carefully protected with several coats of varnish applied to ensure their durability.
